XI - final) Joydeep Dutta of Kumar Ashutosh Institution annexed The Telegraph Schools Chess Trophy with a last round draw against Baishaki Das of Jamshedpur. Joydeep tied with Tanmoy Pattanayak of Mitra Insititution(Main) on 9 points, but was declared champion on account of his better progressive score.For his efforts Joydeep will receive the Telegraph trophy and a cash prize of Rs.10,000/-. Tanmoy Pattanayak took the second spot with a quick draw against Souvik Chakraborty of Narmada High School. Baishaki Das wasted an advantageous position against Joydeep and drew her game to take the 3rd spot. Souvik Chakraborty was declared 4th while Samput Maalick of Holy Home took the 5th spot. St. James School was
declared the best school totalling 31 points well ahead of second placed Don Bosco on 25
points.
