HORLICKS ORGANISED BY ALEKHINE CHESS CLUB The Kolkata final rounds will be played between 16th and 25th August 2002 at Gorky Sadan, Kolkata and the prize distribution ceremony will be organised on 26th August 2002 (evening). First five players from other editions namely, Guwahati, Jamshedpur and Bhubaneswar, will take part along with 5 (expected) players from Bangladesh, some rated players from other states of India, players from Alekhine Chess Club and West Bengal. Total number of participants are restricted to 220. FIDE Swiss system will be followed and each day, one round of game will be played. This final edition of the school event is recognised by All India Chess Federation as the FIDE rated tournament. Who Can Play: Open to all students who are yet to appear for Madhyamik or equivalent examination and were born on or after 01.01.1986. Limited entries will be accepted. Playing Schedule : 16th August - 25th August, 2002 Prize distribution : 26th August 2002 (tentative). Session: All single sessions except on Sunday, 18th Aug 2002 when two rounds will be played :- one round from 9.30am and next round from 3.30pm. Rate of Play shall be 40 moves in first 1½ hours & the remaining moves in next ½ hours each. Everyday between 3.30pm and 7.30pm except on 18th Aug 2002.
